How to apply?

Step 1. Check whether you are qualified for any CHED StuFAPs, per CMO 13, s. 2014

General Qualifications:
     - Must be a Filipino citizen;
     - Must be a Senior high school graduate OR a candidate for graduation OR with earned units in college OR a passer of Alternative Learning System (ALS) / Philippine Educational Placement Test (PEPT);
     - Must have guardian/parents with a combined annual gross income not exceeding Three Hundred Thousand Pesos (PhP 300,000.00);
     - Must avail of only one CHED scholarship or financial assistance program; and
     - Must not be a graduate of any degree program.

Step 2. Check if your course/degree program is a CHED Priority Course/Degree Program.

Important Reminder: Make sure that your choice of Course/Degree program is offered by the School where you intend to enroll.

Step 3. If you are qualified to apply, accomplish the CHED StuFAPs Application form.

Important: Do not forget to print your accomplished application form.

Step 4. Print your accomplished application form from your online application.

Step 5. Check the status of your online application (whether it's uploaded in the system or not). Posting is done daily (except on Saturdays, Sundays, and other non-working days) at

Step 6. If your name is on the list of successfully uploaded applications, prepare the following documentary requirements to be submitted to CHED Regional Office VIII (after 3 to 5 days):

Documentary Requirements (to be submitted in hardcopies after applying online).

A. For All Applicants:
     a1. The printed Application Form from your online application
     a2. 2 pcs. 2"x2" ID picture
     a3. Parents'/Guardians'Proof of Income (whichever is applicable)
          > Latest Income Tax Return (ITR) of parents or guardian
          > Certificate of Tax Exemption from the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR)
          > Certificate of Indigency with Gross Annual Income of parent/guardian issued by the Barangay Chairman
          > Affidavit of No Income or Case Study from DSWD
          > For children of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW) and Seafarers, a latest copy of contract or proof of income may be considered
B. For incoming Freshmen:
     > For Graduating Senior High School applicants – (a) 1st Semester Senior HS Grades AND (b) Certificate of Good Moral Character
     > For Senior High School Graduates – (a) Form 137 AND (b) Certificate of Good Moral Character
C. For Applicants with Earned Units in College - (a) Certificate of grades in all subjects in completed semesters AND (b) Certificate of Good Moral Character
D. Other Applicants
     >For ALS Passers – Accreditation and Equivalency Test Passer Certificate
     >For PEPT Passers – Certificate of Advancing to the Next Level
E. For Applicants with single-parent, also submit Solo-Parent ID or Certification from Department of Social Welfare and Development, if applicable
F. For applicants belonging to an Ethnic Group, also submit Certificate from National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP)
G. For PWD applicants, also submit Medical Certificate
H. For applicants living with a guardian, also submit Affidavit of Guardianship

Step 7. Submit your documents to CHEDRO VIII through any of the following:

     a. Courier (e.g. LBC, JRS, 2Go, etc.) using the address below:

     b. Scholarship Coordinator of the School where you intend to Enroll
     c. Personally hand-carried to CHEDRO VIII Office (for those who reside in Tacloban City or in nearby Municipalities)

Note: The application for financial assistance is completed only after the documentary requirements validation by CHEDRO8. All applications will be subjected to the ranking process in accordance with CHED Guidelines. Results of the ranking process will also be posted at OR

The CHEDRO8 STUFAP Unit reserves the right to validate the veracity of all information provided in the Application Form as well as to ensure the completeness of all required documents. Scholarship applications with incomplete documents and false information will not be processed.
